UFE achieves maximum tooth strength with minimum face width and best mesh for a quiet
and smooth gear system by creating the tooth profile with a CAD system utilizing special
software, then cutting the profile with a wire-feed Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM).
The UFE process is superior to a tooth profile created with a typical generating hob, which
may produce a tooth that is thinned at the root and thus requires a thicker face width
to achieve the desired strength.
