Uniform walls and symmetry are essential to achieve the highest level of quality desired (AGMA Q10 - Q12). If it is desirable to create gears that are a combination of cams, multiple gears, sector gears, D-shaped holes, etc. for economical reasons, the part design dictates a lower AGMA class. In order to improve the AGMA class, the gear teeth shape and location must be altered to compensate for the lack of symmetry.
